The all-round package for your web presence

It felt a bit like a theater rehearsal as we went through the various use cases in a living room, with an imaginary car that consisted of four dining table chairs, using our app prototype, which we had designed using Adobe Xd. This way, we wanted to make sure that we considered the key action steps and potential issues that might arise when using this new technology. From the documentation of this exercise and arising problems, we created user stories, which were subsequently incorporated into the design of user routes in several revisions. This way we created a rough, holistic design concept of an app for controlling the fully automated cab service. Without a logo and a name, an app concept like this would of course be a bit boring, which is why we gave the app a decent corporate design and a small style guide. By the way, we really don't know how the founders of a certain German food delivery service were able to find this case study a year later, but we don't blame them for being inspired by our name.

Automotive automobiles are one of the major subjects of our time in the field of technology, transportation and artificial intelligence. Machines have become more and more intelligent and independent, but they still lack many basic human characteristics that we take for granted. We have not yet succeeded in teaching a machine such a thing as "common sense".A human taxi driver knows that it is sometimes easier to get off a car 10 metres away from an exact location and notices, when a passenger forgot to take his luggage out of the trunk. Well-designed, intuitively usable software should prevent these communication difficulties and enable the smoothest possible handling of this new type of technology. Exactly this challenge was set in a university project within the scope of my studies. The task was to build an app that would allow an autonomous taxi to be completely remote controlled.

Flink is a design concept for the mobile app of an imaginary cab service with fully autonomous vehicles.

This case study takes a look into the future and looks at challenges that may arise when using this technology.

To showcase the playful freedom that the logo concept offers, we also designed smaller advertising graphics that could be used for marketing this app.

Case Study: Flink

The company's existing corporate design guidelines called for the use of bright colors on a dark background and an abstract visual language in the visual design. Content was to be associated with image elements using a modular frame. These design elements lent themselves beautifully to being echoed in the design of the website, setting the brand apart from its competitors.

The brand Klinik Makler was founded to give special importance to the consulting of health care facilities. Therefore the brand also needed a digital representation.

Klinik Makler advises clinical institutions and independent doctors on insurance-related issues in germany.

As a brand of FiNUM.Finanzhaus AG it belongs to JDC Group AG, a large german broker pool. Therefore, the insurance broker can provide technical experts and a wide range of products even in special markets.

The design guidelines of FiNUM.Finanzhaus AG provided an excellent basis for the design of the project. With a mixture of high-class and sophisticated but also abstract and expressive design, the company positioned itself in a very individual and outstanding way.

How can an original and unique web presence succeed in a very traditional sector?

Lorem Ipsum stands is a place for the customer because the company does not want to distinguish itself with its name. In the same way, money is just a placeholder for the wishes you can fulfill with it. With their various patterns and sparkling security features, banknotes are a work of art in themselves. We have taken up these elements in our design.

The challenge was to present the "boring" topic of finance in an appealing way without losing seriousness.

Independent. Blunt. - These words describe Lorem Ipsum Finance extremely well. They have no hidden partnerships and can therefore choose exactly what suits their customers best from all the financial products on the market.

At Lorem Ipsum, we were able to start on a blank canvas. So we designed the entire corporate identity, from the logo to the business cards to the website.

Creating a corporate design and digital presence for an independent financial advisory firm

Dark theme, bright colours and gradients, technical imagery; these design features from the crypto world should of course be reflected in this project and thus assign it to its industry in terms of visual language.

Since the product is still in the development phase, a digital presence should be created to inform potential investors and make future customers aware of RobOtter. For this, in addition to a website that could reveal enough but not too much about the project, RobOtter required a proper branding. This also included the creation of initial mockups to establish a design line for the user interface design.

RobOtter enables its users to develop better strategies for trading cryptocurrencies. The software is designed to create machine learning models without a single line of code. Users can configure their own AI trading RobOtter and train it based on real prices of different cryptocurrencies.

At the beginning of the collaboration, the project was still in its infancy, which is why we had the pleasure of starting on a greenfield site and could use all of our creativity. We were only too happy to take up the founder's original idea of RobOtter as a mascot fishing out the right data sets from an ocean of data in the design.

Since we wanted to stir up the old-fashioned financial industry and provoke in a playful way, we and the WechselGott team went for the spicy name WechselGott (German for: God of Switching Contracts) and opted for bright and friendly colors, color gradients and joyful illustrations. Since WechselGott not only offers their services to consumers, but also collaborates with partners such as the Volks- and Raiffeissenbanken, other banks and insurance service providers, we created the design system in such a way that it can be adapted to any color and picture world within minutes.

Insurance binders? Printed contracts? That’s so 2010.

Our biggest challenge with this project was to bundle this huge amount of information such as contracts, powers of attorney and insurance policies, and presenting them in a clear and simple way. In an industry and country that love paper, we had to find completely new ways.

WechselGott users save €200 per year on property insurance, electricity and gas bills.

WechselGott (German: God of switching contracts) is a German FinTech startup that was founded by our good friend Werner Kräutlein in October 2018. This project has a special meaning to us because it marks the beginning of our collaboration. WechselGott’s goal is to make finances simple and easy with their hassle-free contract management solution. The Volksbank Mittweida and 2bAHEAD were the first venture capitalists to invest about €300,000 into WechselGott. Since then, the company has been growing rapidly. They have hired over 40 employees and received further investments of over €5.6 million.
